Dr. Tonya Rice

Dr. Tonya Rice grew up on a ranch in North Dakota and graduated from Pacific University with a BS degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She then attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry. She graduated in 2007 with a DDS degree. After dental school, Dr. Rice worked as a general dentist for five years in Austin, TX working primarily with adolescents and children.

She then moved to Portland, Oregon to attend Oregon Health and Science University and pursue a specialty residency program in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Rice graduated with a specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry in 2013. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Rice enjoys volunteering in community dental clinics and health fairs, teaching young children about the importance of dental health, and providing dental care to those in need. Her favorite activities include spending time with her son and husband, fishing, hiking and skiing.

Dr. Joseph Booth

DMD

Dr. Joseph Booth started in the family business early on, working at his grandfather's dental office while in high school, and summers while earning his BS in Cell Biology from the University of Washington.

He opened his own practice, Northpark Family Dental in Austin from 2009-2015, before joining the team at Parkside Pediatric Dentistry. While practicing at Northpark, Dr. Booth focused on treating children, something he has always had a heart for. On numerous occasions, he has volunteered to provide dental care to patients in remote areas, including most recently, Dental Project Peru where he traveled to small villages around the city of Cusco.

Dr. Booth continues to expand his knowledge by being an active member of the Capital Area Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. In his spare time he stays active, enjoying travel, golf, kite-boarding, flexibility and movement, and interesting people.

Lexsie Garza

Office Manager

Lexsie found her way into the dentistry field through her passion for helping others. She is RDA and CPR certified and is currently studying Biology at Austin Community College. She loves children and their energy. Outside of the practice, Lexsie enjoys working out, trying new recipes, and socializing with friends and family.

Her main focus within our practice is to help create a stress-free atmosphere and positive experience for you and your child. With her friendly personality and knowledge of dental insurance she is available to assist in explaining benefits and processing dental claims.

Throughout this process she hopes to remove any anxiety you may have regarding the financial aspect of your dental needs.

Our Practice

As a parent you know the vast changes and variety of stages children go through as they grow and mature. At Parkside Pediatric Dentistry our approach to oral health and dental care evolves along with the child, meeting them step by step as they blossom from infancy to adolescence. Our family-centered approach promotes prevention with the hope of minimizing the need for extensive restorative dental work.
